Google is discontinuing Gmail functionality: Checking 3rd-Party Email (Sept 2026) and "Send As" 3rd Party address (January 2027)

Some of our clients are using Gmail's "Send As" functionality to send messages from their personal Gmail account. This allows messages to appear to come from a custom domain email address (a "3rd Party" address), like "user@mydomainname.com".
Google announced this at https://support.google.com/mail/answer/22370
Google is also in the process of retiring the ability to check email from custom mail accounts and import that mail into your personal Gmail account.
If you are using a personal Gmail account to read your custom domain's email or to send mail as your custom domain email address, you will be affected.
